Dr. Suman Bhusan Chakraborty received his B.Sc., M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in Zoology from University of Calcutta, India in 1998, 2000 and 2008, respectively. He is currently an Assistant Professor at Department of Zoology, University of Calcutta, India.Prior to joining the university, he served Serampore College, West Bengal, India for twelve years as an Assistant Professor. He has done his postdoctoral research work at Kaposvar University, Hungary. He is presently engaged in research work in collaboration with the Department of Fisheries, Government of West Bengal for development of eco-friendly sustainable technologies for augmentation of fish production in the state. He has received National Scholarship for his results at the Secondary, Higher Secondary and Graduation level. He is also the recipient of the Gold Medal in Zoology 2000 from University of Calcutta for securing first class first position in M.Sc. He has received Prof. Hiralal Choudhury Young Scientist 2016 award from the Zoological Society, Kolkata for his achievements in research related to aquaculture and fish biology
