

Born in 1964 on 16th January at a remote village Kadipukur under Diamond Harbour Sub-Division in the District of South 24 Parganas. After completion of Secondary education in 1979 he studied Higher Secondary in Arts stream from Diamond Harbour High School and passed H.S. Exam in 1981 securing 66%. Then he got admission to B.A. with Honours in Bengali under Calcutta University and passed in 1984 with 56%. In 1986 he passed Master of Arts in Bengali from Jadavpur University stood as 1st class 3rd in position with the special paper Rabindra Jiban o Sahitya (The Life of Rabindranath and his Creation). In 1987 he has qualified NET Exam conducted by UGC, New Delhi. In 1992 he secured Ph.D. Degree from Jadavpur University under the supervision of Prof. Satyabati Giri. The title of the thesis was : Mughal Juger Bangla Sahitya : Artho-Samajik Patabhumi o Sanskritik Uttaradhikar (The Bengali Literature in Mughal Period : In View of Socio-Economic Background and Cultural Heritage).
Professor Naskar started his career as a Lecturer in Bengali in Darjeeling Govt. College in 1988 under the West Bengal Education Service. Then he was transferred to Haldia Govt. College as Senior Lecturer. Leaving the Govt. Service he joined Kalyani University in 1995 in the same post. From 1998, he served Jadavpur University as a Senior Lecturer. In 2001, he joined University of Calcutta and got the promotion as Reader and Professor consecutively. He took the charge of Headship of the department from 2008 for two years. Now he is serving as one of the Senior Professor in Bengali under Calcutta University.
Except Calcutta University Prof. Naskar is attached to Presidency University, Belur Ramakrishna Mission Vidyamandira, Fakirchand College Diamond Harbour, Asutosh College and Naba Ballygung Mahavidyalaya as Guest Faculty and Member of different committees.
He comes to the world of writing in 1992 and started writing in various literary and cultural magazines. He is too much familiar as a researcher of Medieval Bengali literature. He has a special interest in Folk Culture and Modern Bengali Drama. Once upon a time he has edited a research journal named Madhyajuger Bangla Sahitya Gabeshana Patrika (A Research Journal on Medieval Bengali Literature) soon it is going to be republished.
Prof. Naskar is one of the leading personality in the arena of Dalit Movement all over India. He is now deeply associated with some social organisations like as Poundra Mahasangha, Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Smriti Raksha Samiti, Dr. Ambedkar Janakalyan Society, Poundra Kshatriya Unnayan Parishad etc. He is the editor of quarterly magazine Poundra Samachar. Prof. Naskar is fighting for the social justice and the empowerment of Dalits for a long period.
