University of Calcutta (informally known as Calcutta University or CU) is a collegiate public state university located in Kolkata, West Bengal, India.&nbsp;Within India it is recognized as a &quot;Five-Star University&quot; and accredited &quot;A&quot; Grade by National Assessment and Accreditation Council.

The University of Calcutta has secured the Fifth position among the Universities of India in the prestigious &quot;Indian University Ranking 2019&quot; list, released by the NIRF of the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India.

It was established on 24 January 1857, and was one of the first institutions in Asia to be established as a multidisciplinary and Western-style university. Its alumni and faculty include several heads of state, heads of government, social reformers, prominent artists, only academy award winner and Dirac medal winner in India, many Fellows of the Royal Society and five Nobel laureates as of 2019 which is highest in South Asia.

A new form of the microstrip-fed UWB printed monopole antenna with corner modified radiating plane is proposed. Four slots with same arc radius are introduced on the four corners of the square patch, which provides a wide usable fractional bandwidth of more than 122% (3.1-12.85 GHz). The proposed antenna is simple and small in size as it is designed onto an inexpensive FR4 substrate with an overall dimension of 18 × 25 mm2. In this paper the effects of slots insertion, slot radius variation and gap variation between patch and ground plane are studied with the help of simulated results. Simulated results obtained for this antenna show that it exhibits good radiation behavior within the UWB frequency range. © 2014 IEEE.

Small monopole antenna with corner modified patch for UWB applications

In this article, we describe a novel type of defective ground surface (DGS) microstrip antenna that achieves higher gain, multi resonant frequency with compact size. The proposed antenna consists of a hexagonal shaped patch with small volume. Six triangular slots have been cut on the ground plane, just below the six corners of the hexagonal radiating patch. Antenna is circularly polarized one and it has the measured peak gain of 7.2 dBi. The antenna shows multi frequency behavior and more than 57% compactness compare to the conventional hexagonal patch antenna. The simulated results are confirmed experimentally. The proposed antenna is simple in structure compared with the regular stacked or coplanar parasitic patch antennas. It is highly suitable for wireless communications. © 2013 Elsevier GmbH.

A compact high gain microstrip antenna for wireless applications

A high gain wideband U-shaped patch antenna with two equal arms on poly tetra fluoro ethylene (PTFE) substrate is presented. An inverted U-shaped slot is introduced on the circular or square shaped ground plane just under the U-shaped patch. In this communication the effect of size and shape of the ground plane on impedance bandwidth is studied. Maximum impedance bandwidth of 86.79% (4.5-11.4 GHz) is obtained with circular shaped ground plane with diameter 36 mm. The highest gain achieved is 4.1 dBi. The simulated results are confirmed experimentally. The proposed antenna is simple in structure compared to the regular stacked or coplanar parasitic patch antennas. High gain wide-band u-shaped patch antennas with modified ground planes

A structure of staggered tuned microstrip antenna is designed and fabricated. Theoretical and experimental investigations are done on the structure. Both the results show that due to staggering effect bandwidth of the antennas has been enhanced. © 2011 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.

Bandwidth enhancement of microstrip antennas by staggering effect

This correspondence comments on certain aspects of a recent paper1 by Marinos relating to derivation of minimal complete sets of test-input sequences to detect stuck-at faults in combinational switching circuits utilizing the concept of Boolean difference. The primary motivation behind this move is to mention some minor inconsistencies, inaccuracies, and deficiencies involving certain key concepts of the paper, and also to generalize some useful results of the author, adding thereby to the utility and worth of the contribution.
