The output of a solar cell is highly dependent on the thermal parameters. In this abstract, a theoretical simulation and an experimental validation on the adverse effect of the increase in the temperature of the solar cell for visible and infra-red (IR) radiation have been done. It has also been shown that this problem can be characterized quite effectively with use of a hot-mirror. The experimental study has been done repeatedly and similar results have been obtained. The experiment has been done with both tungsten lamp and sunlight. © 2020, Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.
