Abstract
A compact low profile wideband antenna is developed and discussed. Its basic structure is derived from the circular cavity following the repetitive segmentation along the quasi-magnetic wall to obtain the 16 th mode geometry. Periodic slots have been etched out alternatively from the top metallic surface, the thickness of which has been engineered to obtain wideband operation from the antenna. The ground plane has been modified for achieving an user-friendly radiation characteristics. © 2018 IEEE.
