The present article discusses the use of properly designed experiments to improve reliability. It also points out the importance of specifying the manner in which the results of an experiment should be recorded when the aim is to improve the reliability of a product. A numerical example is cited to illustrate the use of an appropriate design in achieving desired reliability. © ISOSS Publications 2017.
