Abstract
This study concerns the Raniganj Formation, Upper Permian of the Mohuda Basin, Jharia coalfield, Indian Lower Gondwana. Out of nine workable coal horizons seven horizons have been selected for plant megafossil distribution analysis. The lower coal horizons are rich in floristic composition. Qualitative and quantitative variations have distinguished four ecoassemblages, which are described. Correlation of the coal horizon of Mohuda Basin with coal horizons of the type area, Raniganj Coalfield, of the Raniganj Formation is suggested. -from Author
