The present paper attempts to highlight ordered states of pyroxenes occurring in different lithomembers of Torappadi complex and to establish relation between degree of ordering achieved with the crystallisation history of the complex. Petrographically, this complex is characterised by coarse- to medium-grained ultramafic and mafic members with local development of iron - enriched facies of the mafic member. All the three lithomembers are characterised by preferred arrangement of mafic minerals. The lithomembers of the Torappadi complex bear a signature of normal differentiation trend namely ultramafic → mafic → iron - enriched mafic. The percentage of ordering deduced for several pyroxenes are found to be well - correlated with several differentiation parameters for the lithomembers of the complex. -from Authors
