Effect of alkaline-earth and transition metals on the electrical transport of double perovskites

The electronic and magnetic properties of the double-perovskite compounds were investigated using x-ray diffraction, thermoelectric power (TEP) and resistivity measurements over a wide temperature range. Single crystalline A2BMoO6 was melt grown by the floating zone method. The quality of samples and their crystallographic structure was also investigated by means of room-temperature powder x-ray diffraction technique. The results show that for A2FeMoO6 crystals, the crystallographic structure changes from cubic to tetragonal and finally to monoclinic with the decrease of the average ionic radius.
