A home-based self-health monitoring system is in huge demand in recent times. This can be achieved by a low-power, cost-effective, accurate, and easy-to-use system, which can measure, display, and warn the patient regarding their vital parameters. The proposed system uses non-penetrative sensors to accurately monitor the vital parameters like heart rate and body temperature and uses ARM Cortex M3-based processor LPC1768 to process, display, and alert the patient. The stability and accuracy of the proposed system have been verified by studying the vital signs of volunteers as measured by the system with reference to their actual data as per medical practitioners. © 2020, Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.
