The normal content of muscle creatine is about 450 mg per 100 g. It is diminished in denervation and in cortisone myopathy. In the present experiment 40 male albino rats were taken to show the effect of prednisolone, a glucocorticoid analogue, on denervated muscle. From the observation of the present study it can be surmised that prednisolone has an injurious effect on denervated muscle tissue resulting in marked diminution of muscle creatine which is statistically highly significant.
