Abstract
A new Ground Plane is proposed for probe-fed Dielectric Resonator Antenna (DRA) design, which indeed is an extension of a new concept of glue-less DRA technology reported by the same authors very recently. The technique is basically to resolve a long standing issue, i.e., deployment and fixing of DRA on the metallic ground plane by chemical adhesive. The design focuses on the dominant mode of a DRA without affecting its characteristics. An C-band design has been examined and proposed. The configuration shows unperturbed broadside radiation and ∼ 6 dBi gain, with good co-polar to cross-polar isolation. © 2017 IEEE.
