Comparison of Image Encoding Using Random Mask Generated by Spatial Light Modulators (SLM)

The present method describes two simple yet robust methods for image encoding and decoding using random masks. The first method is based on sequential convolution and deconvolution of a random mask over the image in the image domain whereas the second method is based on multiplication and division of the same. Both of them can be potentially used for security enhancement of images during transit, however, we establish here that clearly the convolution method is provides better security without much computation costs. © 2021, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.
