Chemical oscillation, once thought to be impossible, is now among the most rapidly growing areas of chemical research. This review gives an overview of the field to the newcomer or any one interested in this exciting and fascinating field of nonlinear chemical dynamics. It deals, however, primarily With temporal oscillation in a general way. After a brief history and introduction, the conditions for oscillation and chaos, different oscillating systems (with special reference to the B-Z system and its modifications), and their classification, and mechanisms and models etc. have been discussed.
